Although SACCOs has a strong vision for regional expansion, several issues hindered effective governance and sustainable growth:

Unstructured Governance Framework

Board members and management operated without a standardized governance structure, resulting in inconsistent decision-making.

Limited Financial Oversight & Risk Management

The SACCOs lacks clear accountability tools and risk controls, exposing them to compliance risks and potential financial loss.

Low Leadership Engagement

Leadership meetings were often reactive. Misaligned priorities led to delays, internal conflict, and unclear performance expectations.

Insufficient Reporting & Tracking Mechanisms

There were no dashboards or reporting frameworks to track progress on strategic initiatives or performance indicators.
